NEMA Commends A.K Oils and Fats for Environmental Compliance

The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has commended Mukwano’s Group’s A.K Oils and Fats in Lira for its compliance to environment standards.

“We appreciate your efforts of trying to ensure that all activities at your facility conform to the relevant environment compliance and legal requirements. This authority commends the good practices adopted in your operations as revealed during the inspection,” a letter signed by NEMA official Mr. Waiswa- Ayazika Arnold, stated. Mr. Waiswa-Ayazika signed for NEMA Executive Director.

The acclamation follows NEMA and Lira Town Council environmental monitoring and compliance inspection in November, 2013.

NEMA advised that environmental management is a process which calls for continuous improvement.

“We look forward to your continued cooperation,” NEMA encouraged A.K Oils and Fats.

All Mukwano companies conduct regular environment audits as required by the law.
